Classroom Information
Dear Lanier County High School Parents, Guardians and Students,
I am delighted that you have joined me and trust that this classroom support website will meet your expectations.
As a student or student’s parent or guardian, you will have access to much of each courses’ daily class lessons and related support materials. I am confident that you will find this website helpful. Copies of session handouts for each day’s lesson will be made available to you on-line.
I will update this website as often as my time allows and post pertinent class information, support information and links, calendar information, and miscellaneous announcements and forms for class meetings. My personal website can be located on-line at http://www.cmooreteacher.weebly.com/. Each student will be given a free account at http://www.quia.com/web where they can access learning games that I develop to help my students study vocabulary and language arts concepts that students must master in order to pass my course. If you are a parent or guardian and would like your student's username and password, please let me know.
Within my classroom, Language Arts students study in order to be able to read fluently, understand an expansive assortment of written materials, communicate competently, listen carefully and effectively, develop a grasp of the language and demonstrate their comprehension through speaking and writing for a variety of audiences and purposes.
Our school, Lanier County High School, is committed to excellence while producing academically competent graduates who have career and life skills necessary to be contributing and productive citizens in society.
Lanier County High School is an exciting place to study, but your education should not be limited only to the classroom. I encourage you to take full advantage of opportunities for support throughout the City of Lakeland and the Lanier County community. As a county named in honor of Sydney Clopton Lanier, our community reflects man’s faith and his relationship to the world around him. It provides opportunities for arts enjoyment, fellowship, heritage celebrations, learning, nature activities, research and service.
During your time at Lanier County High School and within my class, I encourage you to work closely with me, in addition to our excellent faculty and staff members. We are all well prepared and ready to assist you in your quest to graduate with a high school diploma.
Please do not hesitate to stop by when you have any questions. You will find me receptive to new ideas and suggestions. I am happy to hear from you. Please don't hesitate to communicate!
Sincerely,
Carol A. Moore, B.F.A.
